Did you ever wonder why most pop songs sound eerily similar? I'm sure we all blame the corporate music monster for that.
'Pop' is the abbreviation of "popular"; most pop songs tend to be short, catchy, normally about something that is universally understood. I.e. love, happiness, loneliness, that girl/guy that you can't have, etc. Pop music is normally identified as a piece of music that has been developed as a series of singles, rather than as an extended piece of work. It tends to reflect the genres of the time. Pop also sounds really polished; the live aspect of the performance is normally eliminated from these songs (welcome to the world of auto-tune and drum machines). They might also make you want to... *gasp*... dance.
The truth is, most pop songs contain the same four chords: G, C, F, and A (all major, no minor chords or diminished chords). Many people have their doubts about this, but when you can string together 40 years of pop music as seamlessly these following acts why keep doubting?
Here's an idea, write yourself a four-chord song and it'll either be the next greatest hit or the next greatest internet meme.
As Benny says, "The reason why we don't have a hit song is because we don't have a four-chord song" This compilation has been covered by many a guitar/keyboard playing YouTuber. This is still the best (and funniest) version.
Freddy, here has great technique and manages to throw internet memes and classical gass into the mix.
This is Jim, singing with eight other versions of himself to prove the same point.

LIGHT of DOOM!!!
I recently stumbled upon a great little band called 'Light of Doom'. Screams "METAL!", doesn't it? What else could they be, but a crazy hair metal band? They come complete with face-melting guitar solos, chest-rattling bass, a drummer who rocks a double-kick, a lead singer with charisma to boot, and of course, plenty of hair.
Their influences include: Ninjas, Boobs, and EXPLOSIONS!
Did I mention that everyone in the band is 12ish? Oh, I didn't? Well they are and they rock. When I grow up, I can only hope to rock as hard as Light of Doom.

Miniature Animals
What? They're cute. They have an "awwww" factor of 10 and to be frank a lot of people would rather deal with them than other people. Now brace yourself for the tiny, the adorable, and the furry.
The notorious Munchkin cat known as being a controversial new breed of cat. They have the same sized body as a normal cat, but with legs that are half the length. Think of it as the Dachshund or Corgi of the domesticated cats.
CORGIS! ATTACK!!!
A Shetland pony that thinks its a dog.
Some dude who thinks he's Steven Colbert's nephew... and that he has a pet Tarsier. Tarsiers are indigenous to Bohol in the Philippines. They are about the size of squirrels and have eyes the size of large marbles. Disturbing or cute? I'm going to go with disturbingly cute.

Getting more than you expected
You wake up, have some breakfast, brush your teeth, shower, get your gear together, then step out your front door to face the world. It is another normal day, with normal expectations, and everyday encounters... until you get to school to buy a little caffeine from the cafeteria vending machine and it gives you more than you expected. I wish more things dispensed happiness.
